Artist Statement

I am a visual artist born and raised in Minnesota.   My paintings bind messy moments with unamused faces. The psychedelic portraits of men and women achieve a moody mist of discomfort and are drizzled in light humor. The tragicomedy forms are created with loud hues, sporadic strokes, and loose lines in acrylic. Stretched out eyes and elongated mouths and necks dangle hints of hostility and resentment felt from misfortunes.  I tend to gravitate to organic illustrations and forms that are unnatural or distorted. I believe creating something unseen from within is a gift.
